Hey Awesome People, 👋
This is Tharun. I help startups tell compelling stories to their investors. With investor narratives you can convey messages to your investors in a language they understand.
Small Back Story
As a Tech Startup founder myself, I’ve pitched to 300+ investors across India and Globe with just an Idea and not much of a traction.
A big misconception that people have is that a good investor deck will get you funded. But that is flawed. The primary motive of an investor deck is to get a meeting by capturing their attention.
Oh boy, these investors are busy people and it is so difficult to get a meeting with them.
But fortunately I did. After analyzing 100s of decks and cold emails, I crafted a compelling pitch deck for our company Record and landed meeting with investors. While the outcome was certain (not getting funded) I understood what will get the attention of these investors.
If you have landed up here directly and are clueless about my background. Read more about me here.
How to read this Portfolio?
- My work involves doing the narrative and wireframe of the startup’s story.
- Whatever you are seeing below is the narrative version of the deck in the Google slides format.
- Most of the narratives are complete.
- I’d like you to read through the story of each startup and the narrative that we are selling to the investors. The decks I do rarely have any templates.
- I try to tell engaging stories as simple as I can. To do this I first understand the startup at a very foundational level. All the narratives go through at least 3 or 4 iterations.
- The decks will have comments, blank slides, dummy text/illustration, skipped slides and multiple headers. All these are outcomes from the client reviews. I have tried to keep it as much raw as possible.
- Some might also have the design version of it. You can check it in the link attached inside each card.
- Design is either done by the client’s internal design team or outsourced to a few good designers that I know.
- While I try to get the best out of the designers, the overall design language is reflected by the startup’s brand book.
